WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT STATE INSPECTIONS?

State Inspections are required by law to help make sure all vehicles on the road are safe and follow the latest guidelines. A State Inspection test includes a list of items that we will check to make sure your vehicle is operating safely on the road. State Inspections must be conducted by mechanics trained and licensed by the state of Texas and employed by a certified state inspection station. Rest assured; our highly trained mechanics meet all the required by the State of Texas. Your vehicle must undergo yearly inspections to make sure it’s up to code. If your vehicle fails for any reason, we will provide you with a list of recommend repairs that have to be completed before your car or truck can pass. Once these repairs are completed, you will vehicle will need to be retested. Dallas, TX requires motors to also have an emissions test to help prevent harmful toxins from entering our atmosphere.

Which vehicles are required to have the emissions test?

Vehicles registered in designated counties. Designated counties include: Brazoria, Collin, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Ellis, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Johnson, Kaufman, Montgomery, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, and Williamson. Gasoline powered vehicles. Diesel powered vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from emissions testing, but are still required to have the annual safety inspection. Vehicles 2 through 24 years old OR upon expiration of the two-year initial inspection sticker.
